New man in my life

I have a new man in my life.  Well, actually he has been around all along, but now he is at our home while his parents are at work.

My favorite grandson [okay, our ONLY grandson] is with me 4 days a week.  In a month, he will be here only 2 days a week.

My little “bear cub” is named Bridger and he is 14 months old.

Here are a couple pictures I took when Granddad came home tonight.  I gave them both an Otter Pop while we were waiting for Daddy.  They were so cold!

It has sure been a lot of fun having you around, Bridger!

Little Man birthday party

Our little grandson’s party was yesterday.  It was a grand event all decorated with mustaches and ties.

Grandpa wore his overalls, cause he had a special gift that he had been working on for almost a year.  “Thanks, Granddad, it’s just what I needed!

Party Pictures!

I couldn’t make a post of Addy and Piper’s post anything as good as my daughter did!  After making a book using Costco’s photo shop for my aunt visiting from Cody, Wyoming, I decided to have you check the party out on Aimee’s blog.  Enjoy!  (Beware – loads of collages of pictures and smiles!)  Seuss-elebration

Oh, do you remember the balls from a previous post of mine?  They were little bits that you hydrate for plants…  Aimee used them for sensory stations at the party.  They feel soooo ubberly cool!!!  What a hit with the kids!  They were red and blue, but the red dye was strong and they ended up mostly red.  The second tub is full of dyed cooked spaghetti, another BIG hit with the kiddos!

NEXT party – Bridger’s first birthday party!  Stay tuned!

Birthday dresses

May is birthday month!  My three grandchildren - Piper, Addy, and little man Bridger - all have birthdays this month!  What a fun time of year this is!  Piper and Addy’s party is next Saturday, May 19th.

My part for the girl’s parties are their dresses.  Last night I finished them!!  No peeks until the party, but here is amount – every single scrap – of leftover fabric.  There is not a smidgen in the trash as everything was straight cut!  I cut it pretty close, eh??  Phew!  At $12.20/yard I got my $$$ worth!

This week Aunt Ginny flies in for the party!  Hooray!  We can’t wait to see her!

happiness is…

Happiness is sharing a grandson!

Yup, my good friend, Candy, and I share a  grandson, Bridger. Candy and I have been friends for a long time.  She is the mother of Bridger’s mother; I am the mother of his father.

We are BOTH sure Bridger is the cutest little boy EVER and love him to bits!

Fun with Bridger!

Grandpa and Nana (that’s ME!) got to play with our grandson, Bridger, on Sunday.  We have a routine of hitting Costco every Sunday afternoon, so Bridger went with us.
This was our first adventure out with Bridger and we had a great time, but who wouldn’t with Grandpa?!  It is a good thing there are seat belts, because is he a busy boy!

Two new cars for Christmas!

Our family goes all out for Christmas!  It is not only a time to be together and eat eat eat, but we spend an entire year thinking about each other and planning gifts that will be “just” right for one another.

This year those perfect gifts included TWO new cars, or actually, a coup and a pickup truck!

Who were the lucky recipients?  No not hubby nor I, but two of our grandchildren, Piper and Bridger.  This is Justin and Bridger out for a test drive in the pickup that Uncle Luke made, it is sooooo cute!  (Aunt Aimee has vinyl lettering for it that says, “P---- Fire Dept.”  How cute will that be?

The girls needed a more “girlie” vehicle and Daddy (with a little help from Santa???) worked and worked in Luke’s garage repainting and detailing a new car for Piper and Addy with great care.  It was just what Piper needed!

Santa came to my house!

Santa came to my house!  A great big fire truck pulled right in front of our house and out jumped good ole Santa Claus!

The reindeer are still getting fattened up and ready for their big flight, so Santa came in big fire engine #2!  He had a pretty good escort, don’t you think?  (Just an aside, my DIL works for the city in the finance dept. and actually processed the paperwork for this engine!)

Santa visited with 6 month olds B and Addy; this is their first Christmas!

Two and a half year old Piper was very interested in Santa.  Here she is asking who he is.

Before we knew it, it was time for Santa and his helpers to leave.

… and to all a good night … and that is the end of my story!

Little Bridger

P1010692

I want to introduce you to my little grandson, Bridger.

He is 5.5 months old and the son of my son and his lovely wife.  B-man lives near, so Grandpa and I are able to see him often.

We are sooo lucky!

Isn’t he cutest little guy you have ever seen?

BTW, I made this quilt from fat quarters that my daughter and son-in-law gave me for my 50th birthday.  There were 50 black fat quarters!  It took my daughter a long time to collect them all!  She presented them all bundled in a black basket with a black bow, you get the idea.  The babies have all enjoy the quilt as much as I do!
