Lucky me!

P1040368Cathy went on vacation and look what she brought back for me!  Fabric, always the perfect gift – and look how cute they are!

She said that Esther’s Fabrics in Bainbridge Island, Washington was sooo much fun to visit.

Thanks, best friend!

I just love ‘em!

Today I worked on my Just Takes 2 blocks.  Tomorrow more blocks will be up!

Last year I made this pillow with Amy Butler fabrics and since my embroidery machine needed a run through today, I decided to make a chocolate bunny pillow to go with it.

I embroidered a onesie for my little grandson, too. Shhhhhhh, don’t tell his dad that I used an old pair of his Boy Scout shorts for the tags!

What did YOU sew for Christmas?

Now that Christmas has been here, I can share a few of my goodies!

This year I made several little t-shirts for my grandkidlets.  I found a great embroidery design shop online called Planet Applique and the designs were soooo cute!

Here I am wrestling the little onesies inside the hoop, it was a little tight and if you know a better system, PLEASE let me know, I am all ears!

Do you see the black centering lines?  I used the FriXion pen everyone is talking about and I loved it for this!  It was easy to see, didn’t smear and ironed right off!  It think they are a score for embroidery!

I made big sister/little sister shirts for the girls and a little onesie for Addy.

I also made purses, journal covers and tissue covers for my bee buddies:

This was my inspiration tote; I just loved it and hoped my friends would, too!  I planned on making one for myself, maybe out it out on some blue wool from an old coat, but after making 5 of them, I may have made enough!  This is the tutorial I used at Me Sew Crazy.

I love Christmas!

My favorite part of Christmas is making gifts for friends and family.  I spend months deciding what to make.  Pinterest has been a great help because I keep “all” of my ideas in one place and don’t have to bookmark, or print, them all.  It allows me to keep pictures at my finger tips and not just a line in my bookmarks.  I love it!

Today I made 2 onesies for my grandson.  Aren’t they cute?  They stitched out very easily.  I recommend Planet Embroidery designs after stitching several of their designs out.  Take a look yourself!  Think he’ll like them?
