Capitol Quilt Show - 2011

The Colorado Quilting Council puts on a quilt show every odd numbered year in the Colorado State Capitol rotunda. This free event exhibited 270 quilts this year from around our state from June 6th through August 19th. The setting is simply spectacular. I went twice this year to see them.

The CQC puts out a call for quilts from quilters that live in Colorado, or were made by a Colorado quilter, early in the year for the show. Quilts are accepted on a first come basis and only one quilt per quilter is allowed. Can you even imagine what a project it must be organizing, hanging, and taking down and returning all of those quilts!

Wouldn't it be great to actually have your quilt hanging there for review? Maybe someday!

These photos were taken by my son when we visited the show in August.
