So, my camera battery died and I only got a few pictures of the first Halloween party of our day and not ONE of the second party, darn. (I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I took 200 pictures in Estes Park last week…)
The Key Club at Arapahoe High School puts on Halloween party and Easter egg hunt each year for Denver area children with Down syndrome and their siblings. The event was well planned and students had different activities in about 25 decorated rooms for the children to interact, play and discover in. A great time was had by all!
The Girl Scouts made S’mores for the Trick-or-Treaters, but Piper was satisfied with the graham cracker!
Piper kicked balloons and tossed bean bags …
AND, she met Burt in person! Any doubt she had about him being the real Burt was decided after thoughtful inspection. He was an imposter!
Piper saw someone inside those eyes and wanted to get this situation sorted out right here and now! The high school student was very patient as intrigued Piper investigated the guise. She kept a close eye on Bernie after that.
Thanks Arapahoe High School. The event was a hit and brought a lot of joy to a bunch of great kids!
See you next year!
Robbie Marie
