Party Pictures!

I couldn’t make a post of Addy and Piper’s post anything as good as my daughter did!  After making a book using Costco’s photo shop for my aunt visiting from Cody, Wyoming, I decided to have you check the party out on Aimee’s blog.  Enjoy!  (Beware – loads of collages of pictures and smiles!)  Seuss-elebration

Oh, do you remember the balls from a previous post of mine?  They were little bits that you hydrate for plants…  Aimee used them for sensory stations at the party.  They feel soooo ubberly cool!!!  What a hit with the kids!  They were red and blue, but the red dye was strong and they ended up mostly red.  The second tub is full of dyed cooked spaghetti, another BIG hit with the kiddos!

Granddaughter’s Seuss birthday party

Yesterday was finally party day!

Addy will be one year old on May 22nd and Piper was 3 on May 11th.  Mommy and Daddy had a BIG party for Piper’s first birthday and wanted to do the same for Addy, so a big it was party to be!

The theme?  A Seuss party for our:  Little Thing 1 & Big Thing 3!

My part was pretty simple – dresses were needed to donned by two little girls.  They should be cute, but easy to move around in and, by-the-way, Addy is walking only when she wants to, so appropriate provisions should be considered.  Small tasks since both girls are bitty things, right???

Practice dresses had to be made to see if they would fill the bill.  Blouses had to be purchased and bought at the store.  Phew, good thing my job was only that big!

I made sample dresses until just the right styles were found…  I tried old patterns and used cloth I had around…  I tried them on dollies and on girls whenever I could…

So, take a look, see what do you think? 

Did I do good?

Did the girls look like Seusville, at least for the day?

And Mommy and Daddy, they dressed the part, too!

When Aimee was a bitty girl …

 

When my daughter, Aimee, was a bitty girl, I made her this exact same outfit!  I just made it again for her daughter!  When I pulled Aimee’s outfit out and it looked o-l-d and sad…  I still  had the exact seersucker fabric in the bottom of my stash, so with new lace and the same pattern, I made it again.  I always had Aimee in bonnets, so of course I had made a matching bonnet for her, but Aimee’s girls don’t wear them, so in just a little time I was finished.

I can’t wait to see Addy in it!

Too busy for many pictures

… but Easter was a great day!  I didn’t even get a picture of my sweet little grandson, Bridger.  If his daddy has one, I’ll update and add it.  Meanwhile, my daughter and her family, my son and his family, and my parents shared the holiday.  It was great being all together!

This is my daughter, Aimee, with her youngest daughter, 10 month old Addy.  The little stinker is taking up to 7 steps now – she’s in such a hurry to catch up with her big sister!

And this is little Piper playing in our backyard playing in the morning sun.  All is good with the world!  I hope you had a wonderful day, too!

My daughter graduated from the…

 

… where Jim Parsons, aka Sheldon Lee Cooper of “The Big Bang Theory” fame, also attended.  Ahhhh, yup, he attended graduate school there in 1999.  Imagine that! 

 

Aimee thinks it is hilarious that Jim Parsons attended classes there, too.  Sometimes the world isn’t such a big place after all.

In Stitches over Pinterest!

Do YOU Pinterest???

I am in love (addicted) to Pinterest.  It is the best way that I know of to keep track of quilts that I adore.  I have come to the conclusion that I will NEVER be able to make them all, sigh, but I love to love them all!

One of the best parts of Pinterest is the “pinning” process. You “pin” pictures from the internet that link back to them whenever you want to go and at the same time, folks that choose to follow you can likewise “pin” them from you. 

It is sooooooo much fun to see what appeals to other folks.  Sometimes it DOES influence how I will proceed with a project.  If folks pin it like crazy, it must have something that is more universally appealing.  But not always!  Sometimes the pins are just random!  It seems the simpler a project, the more pins it may attract, too!

Here are some examples of my pins.

It has been pretty popular with 28 repins and 7 likes.

I pinned it 9 weeks ago and I get a repin on it every day or so.  35 people wanting to save it is pretty good!

 

This is a pin that shows where I got the baby shower announcement that I used for my daughter’s shower in 2009.

I thought it was cute and thought other folks might want to take advantage of the tutorial and pattern, too.

It has 13 likes and 52 repins!  Wow!

 

 

I pinned this one because it was just fun!  It reminded me of my tea drinking/duck loving daughter-in-law.  I thought about making it for Christmas, but couldn’t locate the parts in time.

It has 1 like and 10 repins.

HOW is that possible?  Well, every time someone repins from a repin from mine, I get credit for it, too!  Whoa, right???

These vases are filled with conversation hearts have 306 Likes, 12 Comments, and 1485 Repins AND still counting!  (She actually is over 2000 repins on her account’s statistics, but on the board these numbers are what shows – still not bad, eh??)  Can you believe it??  Wouldn’t you think numbers like that would be for something – earthshaking????  Every day we check to see what her new numbers are.

Achy teeth!

My teeth ache at the sweetness of two ornaments my daughter and granddaughters made me themselves!

Here the Santa is made from Piper’s handprint in salt clay.  (I believe Mommy had a little hand in the operation.)

Mommy got Addy’s tiny handprint on the backside of her ornament.  Aimee glittered the inside of the ball and used her fancy cutter to make the vinyl lettering!  How cool is that?

Cuteness Overload!

Stinkin’ Cute!

Aimee is my favorite daughter.  (Yup, I only have ONE daughter, grin.)  She has the two cutest daughters ever!  The girls love each other to bits and love to laugh, too!
